Its Day 12 of the Insanity Challenge and I am starting to feel my butt getting into shape!! I mean that both figuratively and literally.
In each workout Shaun T has his ripped muscled posse (making me look like a fool) behind him. I highly admire all of these participants, but there is one girl in particular who brings the term "beast" to a whole new level.
Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to TONYA
Yes. She is as intense as she looks. Throughout the entire workout she is practically non stop! (I know most people would expect the trainers in the video to not have to stop, but let me remind you that this is Insanity we're talking about and ALL the trainers stop at some point in the workout). Even her facial expressions are intense with constant deep blowing out breaths and constant yelling in the back round - traits that only a beast can posses.
My new goal is not only to lose weight and look awesome, but its to be as insane as Tonya.
Putting my obsession with Tonya aside, I have a confession to make. I've gained a whopping 2 pounds.... over the weekend....
Yes, I know I've been doing so well but this weekend was my birthday weekend and I did what any other reasonable human being would do; I decided to not care about my weight and PIG OUT! I enjoyed my carelessness VERY much, until I stepped onto the scale this morning and realized I was set back 2 pounds. This said, I must put my frustrations behind and push on towards the prize! Its a new week and a new attitude to go along with it!

Week 1 Conquered!
Well folks, I did it. I successfully completed my first week of Insanity. That means only 56 more days to go! My muscles highly enjoyed their rest yesterday, but today it was right back at it with some Power Cardio Resistance. My mom (such a beast) and sister (aka the most intense person I know ) have been joining in on a few workouts which has really helped me stay on track in making sure I get every workout in. I'm all about the buddy system when it comes to getting in shape. I'm actually already starting to feel stronger; today I was able to do quite a few more pushups than I could the first time I did this workout and my muscles are starting to feel firmer too!
So, to sum my first week up; I'm happy to still be alive.
This week is going to be a bit tougher than the last with double workouts on some days, but I'm focused and ready!

Pure Cardio
The fact that I am able to write a post right now is truly a miracle in itself - and that pretty much sums up workout number 5 Pure Cardio! You know the workout is extremely hard when the trainer Shaun T is on the ground dying for air at the end of the workout. Not to mention the fact that all the other participants in the video ( who are ripped to the MAX) are starting to take breaks just after the warm-up
... yea...
Ok enough whining. Seriously though that was one, no pun intended, INSANE workout! Even though I want to throw up after each workout I know I'm getting my body in amazing shape and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I'm done!
So far today I've been good and have maintained within my calorie limit. I even have 900 to spare for dinner! Now, the true challenge is deciding to eat healthy after a hard workout. I have a horrible tendency to want to eat garbage after I get a great workout. I get this mentality that since I just probably burned a load of calories, I can eat whatever I want. Obviously this is false. SO, I'm going to fight the urge to binge and make my self some grilled tilapia with some fresh green beans... mmmm mmm

Insanity Workout Days 1-4
Well, the name of the workouts could not describe it more perfectly, INSANE! The first day consisted of the Fitness Test to help you see your improvement as you continue throughout the program ( there are 5 Fitness Tests in all ). This consisted of you trying to complete as many reps as possible for 8 different moves. I knew these workouts were going to be hard when just the basic Fit test was making me sweat bullets. So the next day I completed my first workout titled "Plyometric Cardio Circuit". Not only was I out of breath but my muscles were screaming for me to stop the whole time. I had to take a few breaks during the workout but I finished! the following workout was pretty much the same and today was the "recovery" workout day. Even the recovery workout was difficult and it was mostly just stretching, I never knew stretching could be so intense! The Insanity package includes a diet plan along with the workouts. It gives you an equation to help figure out your needed caloric intake to maintain, lose or gain weight. I, of course, chose the equation to lose weight. My calories per day calculated out as 1950. The big theme of this nutrition plan is to eat 5 meals a day and remain with in your per day calorie amount. So far I've been a little over each day but non the less I am eating much healther than I was before I started Insanity. Even though Insanity is pushing my limits I'm enjoying the challenge (so far) and am really anxious to see the results!
